Manager / Principal Power Engineer
Verari Systems, Inc. is the premier developer of powerful, flexible, and scalable platform-independent blade computing systems that are defining a new era in high performance utility computing for the enterprise data center is seeking a full time Manager / Principal Power Engineer.
Position Purpose
This role will architect and drive a high efficient power distribution system in BladeRacks for use in Data Centers. Pick the right partners to work with at Verari and support both Manufacturing and the Field with any problems that arises. This position will also serve as a mentor to less senior engineers.
Scope and Responsibilities
This position is for a seasoned electrical power engineer/manager that is skilled in power subsystems with deep experience in high power distribution, both AC and DC. This person must be familiar with supporting digital and analog communications for power systems management. PCB design experience is also desirable although not a hard requirement. This person will have extensive experience with hands on troubleshooting and will be comfortable with single phase, 3-phase, delta and Y power problems, and serial and digital communications.
This person must be able to communicate clearly and work well with all levels of personnel including production personnel, test technicians, fellow engineers and all levels of management.
Experience and Requirements
• 7+ years experience in power supply and power distribution
• Single and 3-Phase AC power experience
• DC power experience
• Redundant Power Architecture
• Extensive experience with MS Office, Orcad, and MatLab
• UL/CSA/FCC agency certification experience
• Experience with driving products from concept through production
• Experience with refining systems requirements and generating engineering specifications and test specs
• Experience with DFT and DFM
• Experience as a project lead and mentoring less senior engineers
• Experience working with remote development and third party outsourced design
• Able to effectively work with all levels of management, buyers, scheduling, and production line workers to help solve issues relating to scheduling, manufacturing and architecture
