San Diego, Calif. – September 23, 2008 - Verari Systems®, a premier developer of independent and energy efficient data center consolidation platforms, today announced the BladeRack® 2 E-Class platform with a comprehensive line of the industry’s densest compute and storage blades combined with maximum redundancy to provide the best availability. With the addition of an ultra-efficient fully redundant power architecture, the BladeRack 2 E-Class platform ensures that businesses are never left without their critical data and applications. Power-conscious IT managers can dramatically cut power and cooling costs, due to the patented ground-breaking, efficient design.
“Performance per watt and price/performance in a given footprint are two essential metrics and comparison point features for any mission critical customer installation,” said Greg Schulz, founder, StorageIO Group and author “The Green and Virtual Data Center” (Auerbach). “With full redundancy at both the node and rack level, Verari is marrying energy effectiveness with high availability that allows for greater server uptime while maintaining high price/performance levels to support growth and improved productivity.”
The new BladeRack 2 E-Class platform utilizes an auto-sensing 208-400VAC, 50/60Hz, 3-Phase input power solution that drastically reduces energy expenditure. The efficiency of this power subsystem also allows IT staff to spend fewer resources on heat related failures and provides enterprise applications, such as airline reservation systems, the ultimate availability with fully redundant power inputs, power distribution modules and power supplies.
Enterprise customers in all industries will find the BladeRack 2 E-Class an excellent vehicle for desktop consolidation and high performance grid installations while its power architecture fits seamlessly in their current power challenged environments. Enterprise data center administrators can increase efficiency by utilizing the added connectivity options for virtual machines.
“The BladeRack 2 E-Class platform was developed for the enterprise customer, where availability is the most important criteria for the CIO,” said Dan Gatti, senior vice president, worldwide market operations, Verari Systems. “The combination of density, energy efficiency and multiple levels of redundancy can yield the greatest availability required in financial services and other mission critical applications.”
Built upon the success of Verari’s original BladeRack 2 platform, the BladeRack 2 E-Class has the ability to house up to 576TB of storage or 720 processing cores per rack. With Verari’s patented Vertical Cooling Technology™, the newly introduced platform is able to employ the fastest and most powerful processors available on the market without the performance loss commonly found from other suppliers. Increased thermal capacity has been incorporated into the design, as well as the ability to adjust airflow within the cabinet.
The BladeRack 2 E-Class is immediately available with a variety of specialized storage and server blades. For more information, please visit http://www.verari.com/bladerack.asp.
